Rider Agreement

Purpose

This Rider Agreement ("Agreement") is between ChowBuy Technologies Ltd. ("ChowBuy") and the person who registers to deliver through the ChowBuy platform ("Rider"). By accepting it in the app or by completing delivery work you agree to its terms.

Independent contractor

You are an independent contractor, not an employee, partner or agent of ChowBuy. You choose when to go online, which orders to accept and how to complete them, within the standards in this Agreement. You are responsible for your own taxes and for any permits required for your work.

Eligibility and onboarding

• You are 18 or older and legally able to work in Nigeria.
• You provide a valid government ID, vehicle papers and licence where required, and a guarantor.
• You pass our verification checks and safety briefing.
• You keep your documents valid and tell us promptly if anything changes.

Vehicle and equipment

You must use a roadworthy vehicle that matches the type registered with us. You provide your own smartphone, data and safety equipment including a helmet. You are responsible for fuel, maintenance and running costs.

Standards of service

• Ride safely and obey all traffic laws. Never use your phone while riding.
• Handle food and packages with care, keep delivery bags clean and do not open or tamper with orders.
• Be polite and professional with customers, Partners and ChowBuy staff.
• Follow pickup and drop-off instructions and confirm delivery in the app.
• Do not accept cash payments unless the order is clearly marked for it.
• Never ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Earnings and payouts

You earn a delivery fee for each completed order, plus any tips and bonuses shown in the app, such as streak bonuses for consistent deliveries. Rates and bonus rules are displayed in the app and may be updated with notice. Earnings are paid weekly, on Fridays, to the bank account you register. Deductions, where applicable, are shown in your statement.

Insurance and safety

Trips completed through the platform are covered by trip insurance on the terms of the policy made available to you. Insurance does not cover rule-breaking, illegal activity or deliberate harm. Report any accident or incident through the app as soon as it is safe to do so.

Data and privacy

We collect and process your personal data, including live location while you are online, as set out in our Privacy Policy. You must keep customer information confidential and use it only to complete the delivery.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access for breaches of this Agreement, safety concerns, fraud, repeated customer complaints or invalid documents. You may stop delivering and close your rider account at any time. Earnings owed up to that point will be paid in the normal cycle.

Liability and indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for loss or damage you cause through negligence or breach of this Agreement. ChowBuy is not liable for losses outside its control. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

Governing law and contact
